A documentary about the Freedom Riders of 1961, who helped to end segregation in interstate travel in the South. Mostly young people, the Freedom Riders risked their safety, even their lives, by volunteering to integrate restrooms, lunch counters, and waiting rooms in the stations and airports. Many spent time in Parchman prison after being arrested at bus stations in Jackson, Mississippi. The film includes archival footage and contemporary interviews
